Let’s “Flip the Script on Aging - Move Your Way!”
Last fall, for ACTIVE AGING WEEK Age Friendly Central Brooklyn, Inc. (AFCBI), encouraged everyone to “Get Back in the Game.” This year we ask you to challenge the myths and stereotypes about getting older, and “Flip the Script on Aging - Move Your Way!”
ACTIVE AGING WEEK begins Monday, October 6 and runs through October 12. The weeklong series of activities highlights the benefits of an active, healthy lifestyle for adults 62 and over. During the week, there will be a variety of events featuring AFCBI members flipping the script on aging. Each event explores one of the seven dimensions of wellness: social, emotional, environmental, intellectual, physical, vocational, and spiritual.
ACTIVE AGING WEEK is the signature fall event for Age Friendly Central Brooklyn, Inc. and launches our annual renewal/membership drive and signals the start of our program lineup for 2025-2026. Funding for this year’s ACTIVE AGING WEEK is provided by Assembly member Stefani L. Zinerman, Brooklyn.Org, Council Member Chi Ossé, and Waymo.
ACTIVE AGING WEEK is presented by Humana and organized by the International Council on Active Aging®, the association that has been leading, connecting and defining the active aging industry since 2001. Age Friendly Central Brooklyn, Inc. has been a member since 2017.
